For Public
Viewing
Production Artist / Set designer
'For Public Viewing' is a film by Amelia Clarke in which I worked collaboratively as Production Artist and Set Designer. Created as a key set piece within the film, this display chamber explores the commodification of the protagonist’s loneliness by presenting the performer as an object for public observation. This work was inspired by science fiction, medical environments, and museum display cases to create an enclosed illuminated space that blurs the boundary between person and artifact. MDF, PVC and recycled circuit boards were used to create an industrial and futuristic aesthetic that reflected the film’s themes while supporting the narrative visually. My role involved developing the project from initial concept through to fabrication and installation. This included producing digital designs, sourcing materials, constructing the structure, and dressing the final set.
My role extended beyond the main installation to include set design and dressing across the wider production. The following images document scenes where I contributed to the film's visual language and overall aesthetic.
